Progress is only a myth

Here is my progress into the animation

I believe to be making okay progress, not great. The reason cited is that I wish to color and clean at the same time, but haven't been able to do so. So next week, that's the top of my list.

Just a look at my progress. More is done, just not exporting correctly.

One Step Forward, Two Steps Back. Slide to the Left Now, Ya'll.

Current Progress:

Positive:

2 Working backgrounds

1 Scene completed

I'm happy with my progress thus far, and hopefully I will be able to complete more next week. Once I assemble my shot list everything will fall together.

Here are backgrounds of the vent. These backgrounds are recurring in the film, thus by having them done I can do multiple scenes now.

Here is one scenes animation done.

A 4 seconds scene. The next shot after that scene is a POV shot down the vent, so both backgrounds are being used right now. This current scene does not reflect what is going into the final film, I need to tweak the speed and add a backdrop color.

Edit: I added Fixed the scene to look better

Current mindset for future progress

Quick update on what I'm doing currently and larger update around the corner.

Story is undergoing its final tweaks as the animating for the project begins full time. Before I want to get into the nitty gritty, I want to know how the characters in the film move. Later today or this week (maybe two) I want to upload research of how a child moves. Doing this research will help me because the main character in my film is a child.

Don't touch that dial.

Revised animatic AND MORE

Before anything else, the scanner I was using was small, and the paper I drew on was pretty large. So as a result, some of the images are kinda cropped off or crooked.

I have revised my storyboard to a more solid product that simpler. However excluded is the ending that I am still thinking about.

Also a I have a character sheet! In case you were wondering, this is actually how the kid is portrayed. Any other persons in the film is properly animated, with color, but the kid is just simple.

Animatic

Some new stuff translated to digital, how ever I'm not too good at digital.
Some stuff is rough and some is good imo

Concepts

After being incredibly sick and playing a nasty game of catch-up, I am able to return to my regular schedule.

In my back log is concepts for my animation piece.

My attempt into these is making a vertical slice of what the film will feel, look, and be about.

This first piece here is me exploring what this story would look like if presented as photography.

As for the story I attempt to convey is when I was around 3, my parents and I moved into a townhouse. I was a mischievous child and often destroyed many things. I pulled off the vent covers and found entertainment in throwing things down into it. I somehow came about eggs, and threw them down there. Weeks later, winter pulls in and my parents turn the heat on for the first time. The whole house stunk, and because we lived there for a few weeks, my parent had called specialist to find the origin. There was even talk that is could have been a body. It was only eggs.

My next piece is a digital painting. Not much as a pianting do to my complete unexperience but any experience is good practice. Computer animation is industrial, economic, and easy. It also can cover 2D and 3D, and a mixture of two.

The story here is also personal due to a term coined phase as a Hugh-moment. A Hugh-moment is a sudden and short moment of complete confusion, and I wished to explore the situations in which they occurred.

My last concept is in charcoal, a very dark and dirty medium, that I personally favor the dusty look. The dust on the paper would give the animation a ghastly look, fitting the night setting in the concept.

This piece explores a recent time of my life. During a week away from home, I spent time with friends at the beach. This piece is to explore a time period I had went missing for 19 hours in the middle of the night.

Anyway, sorry for posting so late, and check in soon for my storyboard. Thank you.

In ten years

Hello World

As per requirement, I am to tell you where I am in ten years.

My personal goal is to be working in the film or video game industry. No matter where I work, I wish to work on smaller side projects of film animation or narrative-driven games.
